Good paper for cyanotypes with a few quirks
I was looking for a watercolour paper suitable for cyanotype. Previous attempts with other more textured paper tended to limit detail. Using the back side of this paper works very well with cyanotypes and captures a high level of detail. The paper tends to roll up when brushed with cyanotype solution, which isn't ideal, and the activated paper has to be used promptly as the emulsion tends to oxidise to blue even in the dark over a couple of days, but if coated and used within 24-48 hours it produces excellent results, and withstands washing well. Given that cyanotype can require quite a lot of experimentation, this is a reasonably priced paper that won't break the bank if you have a few failures at first, but produces excellent results when you get things right.
Great watercolour paper
I placed 4 stars only because when I counted the sheets it’s only 29 pieces. But overall, it’s a great cold pressed watercolour paper. Great in absorbing water for washes and for detailed painting.
