After heaps of research, these were the winners in the pencil department. Bought for a friend, but hear that these pencils are amazing!

Lovely product. Once wet the colours are so bright. There is a learning curve with these as they are different than watercolour pencils, and you will need to practice on different papers to make sure you can get the result you need. Wish there was more to the range, but I can see these pencils lasting a long time.
