Mediums, Solvents, Varnishes & Grounds

Your work will look so much better with our mediums, solvents, varnishes and grounds. They’re applied to the painting surface, or added to the paint itself, to greatly enhance your work.

For example, a medium is added to paint to change the way the colour appears and behaves. It can alter the sheen, drying time, texture or transparency. Solvents are used to thin paint, speed up the drying process and clean brushes. Varnishes protect a painting from dirt and dust and even out its final appearance. Finally, grounds, including gesso and primer, create the perfect painting surface.
